Ex Student leader in jail for criticising a governor





 Student leaders Flays Gov.Masari, demand Ibrahim Bature's release

Forum of former student leaders in  has called for the immediate release of  Ibrahim Bature  Dutsenma a former student union leader from university of Maiduguri.

The group said the Katsina state Governor Aminu Bello Masari  ordercome under intends pressure by many Nigerians against what the described as an act of impunity for detaining,molesting and harassing a young critic Comrade Ibrahim Bature Dutsenma for criticizing government policies and actions.


Comrade Mohammed Auwal Jibrin a former NANS leader in a statement said on the 29th August Gov.Masari charged the young fellow to a  magistrate Court 1 with some frivolous allegations bordering some offences yet to be obtain by this report and he has since been reminded in prison custody,

effort to brings the matter again after the adjoining the case to another date for sitting was not successful as the magistrate keep on adjournment of the date just to suffer the suspect for unknown reason.

 Ibrahim Bature a former student union leader from university of Maiduguri who presently hold masters of science with specialisation in animal physiology from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria had launched his 2019 gubernatorial ambition after the not too young to run bill was passed.

 The student leader said  his continues detention by Gov.Masari is to score cheap political gains by crushing  his rivals early to clear his way for safe return to Katsina Government house come 2019.

It would be recalled that governor Masari plans to obtain a loan despite all the allocation received from the Federation account including the bailout of the paris club refund paid to the state in two trenches amounting to billions of naira but was not properly utililize when compare with how the state was developed by the immediate past administration of Ibrahim Shema according to Ibrahim Bature to the extent that the state has nothing write home about since the inception of the APC in may 2017 in the state. 

The governor clampdown came at a time when President Muhammadu Buhari meet with some traditional rulers in the country some couples of weeks ago to prevail on them to reach out to their various state governors so as to bring development to Nigerians as promised during campaigns,the president was said to be disturbed by the negative attitude of many of the state governors whose majority of his party on their pure performance so far including not payment of salaries and retirees of their entitlements.

Commenting on the matter,Comrade Mohammed Auwal Jibrin a former NANS leader and a member of youth mobilisation committee to former President Jonathan 2015 presidential campaign organisations described the act as "a show of shame to democracy and freedom of speech entrenched in chapter of the constitution of the federal republic of nigeria,he further said " I think the attitude of the governor sound like child play,as a chief executive of a state who need to promote the enforcement of the law it's not surprising that he is crossing it,most of the state governor's do the same attitudes to those opposing them for political reason and only Nigerians particularly those affected in their state that must rise up against agent of misrule and bad governance.
