The Fulani Battle To Conquer

By Chief Godwin Acha Ogbole (Oje 1 Ki Idoma) 1/13/2018

The battle to conquer and annex territories by the nomadic/pastoral Fulanis was never an Islamic Jihad but a Fulani tribal conflagration against their host communities with the intention to conquer and annex territories since 1804 when they started attacking the Hausa kingdom of Gobir which was then ruled by king Yunfa.

Usman dan Fodio, the son of a nomadic/pastoral Fulani who was born in the Hausa kingdom of Gobir was the founder and leader of  the Fulani movement that conceived and executed the attack to conquer and annex  their host communities. He camouflaged under the guise of an Islamic scholar/reformer and began to plot subversive activities against the Gobir kingdom led by king Yunfa. He was pursued into exile and ran away to Gudu with his co plotters and Fulani adherents.

In 1804, Usman the son of Muhamad dan Fodio, a Senegalese normadic Fulani migrant quickly asembled a Fulani army of nomadic marauders while in exile in Gudu from the Cameroons, Senegal and other sorrounding states to wage wars aganst the vast Hausa kingdoms of  Kebbi, Katsina, Daura and the important Hausa kingdom of Kano which were captured in 1805.  In 1808 the Fulani marauders finally captured Gobir the Hausa community where the father of Usman dan Fodio settled as a migrant and where he was born. The initial strategy of the war against the Hausa kingdoms was a hit and run guerilla warfare like the tactics been deployed against the agrarian people of the middle belt of Nigeria today.

By 1808 the nomadic rampaging Fulani maruders led by Usman dan Fodio had succeded in defeating most of the important Hausa kingdoms including Gobir kingdom. King Yunfa the king of Gobir was killed  along with thousands of Hausa men, women, children both the elderly were slaughtered  by the rampaging nomadic Fulani marauders. Usman dan Fodio established the Sokoto caliphate and installed himself as Sultan of the new born Fulani caliphate over all the conquered Hausa kingdoms and installed his war commanders as Emirs over the kingdoms now called Emirates.

Buoyed by the success of the conquest of the Hausa kingdoms, the foreign Fulani marauders now turned their attention towards the north east but were faced with a feisty, rugged Kanuris and other tribes of the Kanem Bornu empire which made them to retreat after heavy losses and casualties in the battle field.

Westward, part of the Yoruba kingdoms of Illorin and Ogbomosho were occupied but the Yorubas were able to recapture Ogbomosho but lost Illorin to the marauders and hence Illorin a Yoruba city remains a conquered territory and an Emirate under the Fulani Sultanate till date.

Coming to the present middle belt of Nigeria, comprising of the old Kwararafa kingdom and its loose confederates comprising the Jukuns, the Idoma speaking tribes of Nassarwan Toto to Loko down to Akalekwu, Otiya, Yalla in cross river and all people of the Idoma nation in the presnt Benue, Nassarawa and Cross river states, the tivs in Benue, Nassarawa and Taraba states, the Southern Kaduna tribes, the Southern Adamawa tribes, the Southern Bauchi tribes, the Gbyagis, the Igallas, the whole of the Plateau and all the middle belt states must be  be conquered, annexed and collapsed  into the Fulani Emirates under the lordship of the Sultan of Sokoto just like the Hausa kingdoms, to fulfil a well orchestrated grand design of the marauders.

The marauding Foreign normadic barbaric killers will stop at nothing to realise their expansionist policy/agenda of ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and annexation of the middle belt and thereafter the south east and south south.

Already, unknown to most Nigerians, the Fulanis under their terrorist umbrella organisation, the Miyetti Allah, have branches spread all over the country with fighters recruited from all over West Africa, deployed around the country in preparation for a major Fulani war against the Nigeria people starting from the middle belt. The war to conquer down to the atlantic was expounded in the speech of Sir Ahmadu Bello in 1960 when he said;
"The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grand father, Othman Danfodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We must use the minorities in the North as willing tools and the South as conquered territories and never allow them to rule over us or have control over their future." (Sir Ahmadu Bello October 12, 1960"

From the words of Ahmadu Bello, Nigerians should now understand that Othman dan Fodio never waged an Islamic Jihad but a Fulani war to conquer, plunder and annex territories and they are more focused now than ever to realise the agenda of Othman dan fodio and Ahmadu Bello.
From Feb 2013 till date Benue state have been attacked 47 times by the marauders with over a thousand deaths and no arrest have been made. Why? The people of Southern Kaduna have been attacked more than 100 time with thousands killed and no arrest have been made. Why? Same with the unprovked attacks in Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kogi Niger and all over the areas that are yet to be conquered by the Fulani Marauders.

This hit and run attacks are reminiscent of how they started with the Hausa kingdoms in 1804, it is a guerilla tactics used to weaken your enemies and instilling fear into them before a major attack.

Today, the top echelon of every security apparatus of Nigeria state is headed and dominated by so called Fulani oligarchs at a time when the Fulani marauders are pouring and spreading all over Nigeria with sophisticated weapons, killing and maiming Nigerians in their thousands with impunity. Yet we sit and fold our hands in complacency as thralls, waiting for Muhammed Buhari  the commander and patron of the Miyetti group for succor, big joke!

Waiting for the goverment of the day for succor over the attacks perpetrated by these Fulani marauders, clearly, is an indication that we are still oblivious of the facts that are glaringly staring.

Take note: the fulanis had their agenda from the begining, never in the real sense fought an Islamic Jihad but a Fulani occupation war.

After all, before Othman dan Fodio was born in 1751, Islam had already being introduced to Kano in the time of king Yaji1 the Hausa king, who reigned as king of Kano kingdom from 1349 to1385. He brought in Eyptian and Tunisian Islamic scholars to teach Islamic studies. He apointed a Qadi and Imam as part of his administration.
Muhamed Rumfa(1463 to 1499) built mosques and madrassas. Ibrahim Maje (1549 to 1566) instituted Islamic marriages in Katsina.

The first major centralized state in Northern Nigeria was Kanem-bornu, the occurrence of which belongs to the late 8th century A. D. to the 15th century in Nigeria and was strengthened by Islam, it was brought here through the desert traders-Muslims. Since the 12th century, all rulers - were Muslims. The influence of Islam affected the management system and legal proceedings, and also contributed to the creation of the Muslim elite.

Despite the fact that Kanem Bornu was already an Islamic state with an advanced Islamic Organ, the Fulani war soldiers attacked Bornu with an aspiration and hope that it will fall under Sokoto's control. The ruling king (Mai) required assistance from Kanem and forces of Muhammad al-Amin al-Kanemi responded to the forms of aggression thereby repelling the Fulani onslaught.

The fact of the matter at the time was that, Kanem-Bornu was mainly populated by Muslims, the Fulanis insisted that the empire was involved in paganism and wanted to use that as a ploy to conquer and annex the Kanem Bornu empire as they did to the Hausa kingdoms.

Evidently,  from the above analysis, considering the seriousness of the pogrom against our people, it is clear that we must wake up from our deep slumber and stupor state of inertia and raise an army to defend ourselves immediately without further delay.

It is not too late yet, but sooner that later if we don't act by arming ourselves to stand and defend our territories once again as our forefathers did against these reckless, conscienceless, most barbaric rampaging marauders, then we will soon fall and loose our identities like the Hausas and the other tribes of nothern Nigeria.
All the tribes in the middle belt must develop a Modus Vivendi that will lead to a rapprochment, where political, cult and every kind of affiliation whatsoever be put aside for a strong synergy to enable us contain these rascals.

We can do it, we have always done it from the time of our forefathers.

To the strong and able Youths of the middle belt, Christians and Moslem alike, do not be fooled anymore, what we face today is not an Islamic Jihad but a Fulani invasion of our territories, they do not consider religion. Among those killed in Agatu were Moslems. The Hausa kingdoms that were brutally annexed embraced Islam even before Usman dan Fodio was born.
My middle belt brothers, Our youths, please stop killing yourselves over cult issues, put away all cult activities and embrace the middle belt "BROTHERHOOD" the new cult that we must all belong too, the Homeland defence force. we cannot afford to loose our strong men to   frivolous issues as cult wars wheras the bigger war of our lives is ongoing right now.

To our political leaders in high places please stop your divisive behaviours. Governor Ortom, if you had come to condemn in strong terms the invasion and killings that took place in Agatu with the same fury and reaction as exhibited now, the Miyetti Allah would have been more comscious about coming to attack our peopleagain because the Idoma and Tivs would have been more united before now. But the Idoma people felt betrayed that you did not even care to visit the area. By that singular act of despising the Idoma without any meaningful support we felt alienated by our Tiv brothers in  time of trouble. The Fulanis capitalised on our percieved disunity and came back strongly to continue their mayhem on our people.
Apart from Elder Paul Unongo and Gen Lawrence Onoja, none of our political leaders have come out to condemn in strong terms the recent masacre in Guma.
We are begining to know our true leaders, fire brand leaders like the El Rufais the Sanusi Lamido the Sultan of Sokoto, Al Makuras who are cospicuosly among the fire brand leaders of the Miyetti Allah terrorist organisation.

Where is Akume, D Mark, Gemade and all our political leaders? Why haven't any of you come out to condemn in Strong terms the barbaric masacre of our people?
The onus is on our leaders to identify with us now for the needful to be done before it is too late.

We shall never truckle to the threat of the miyetti Allah neither shall we cede any of our land for cattle colonies. They left their lands to come and and establish cattle colonies in our communities.
Cattles reared by foreigners but owned by oligarchs of the caliphate, the sponsors of the deadly Miyetti Allah terrorists.

Once the cattle colonies are created, the terrorist marauders will flock into such colonies in droves and install a Sarakin Fulani. The colony will now be named Sabin Gida and before you know it the title of Sarkin Sabon Gida will be elevated to Emir, just like it happened in Bwari recently.
Arise! Oh great youths of Nigeria, the enemies must not be allowed to prevail over us. Yes we can do it, Yes we can defend our land. The Brotherhood of the middle belt is where every Youth belongs.
